BCGEU Nanaimo

Wales Mclelland was hired as the General Contractor / Construction Manager for this tenant improvement office fit out for the British Columbia Government Employees Union.

Several items were required within fairly small room sizes and several items needed to be coordinated and re-routed to fit within a tight t-bar and acoustical ceiling tile space.

Carter GM

This project consists of a new 8,300 sq.ft. two level addition and a 3,200 sq.ft. tenant improvement renovation to the existing show room which includes exterior facade glazing, Reynobond cladding, flooring, ceiling treatments, electrical, and lighting, as well as new offices and reception area. The project also includes additional vehicle service bays and tire center renovations. Mini-piles were used due to challenging soil conditions.

Carter Honda

Wales McLelland completed a Design-Build contract to demolish an existing facility and to build a new "Signature Branded" Honda dealership. During the process Carter Honda was temporarily relocated to a further on Burrard to allow the Wales McLelland team members access to the facility.

This was Wales McLelland's third time working on an automotive retail project with the The Carter Group.

CKNW Rock 101

The project included the installation of sound-proof rooms, vestibules, special acoustic design features, raised concrete floors on spring and neoprene support, executive offices and boardrooms, studios and acoustically isolated inter-floor access.

Coastal Ford

This expansion and upgrade to the existing Coastal Ford facility in Burnaby was our first experience working with Omicron. Wales McLelland quickly learned of Omicron’s professional capabilities to drive a well thought out, process oriented project. Both Omicron and Wales McLelland believe in a ‘team’ oriented approach and we were quickly working together sharing information and expertise.

Our working relationship was based on professionalism and trust, creating the foundation for a very successful project.

Fiat Showroom

Wales McLelland constructed a new Fiat Showroom within the existing Chrystler Dealership. This included creating a new entrance to the Fiat Showroom while infilling the existing entrance, the construction of interior steel stud walls and high-end custom millwork walls. Additionally, our work included the installation of a new structural steel and composite panel sign structure.

Future Shop

“Big Box” retail continues to be a model in demand by consumers today. Smart Centres is capitalizing on this platform by designing and developing retail centers in growing sectors. At Wales McLelland, we are proud to work with Smart Centres in growing their retail portfolio by adding Future Shop to their South Surrey development.

IKEA Canada

Wales McLelland was selected to be the General Contractor on this massive project and provided unsurpassed coordination and resources to overcome many challenges. The facility was completed in 12 months: to the day of the planned opening. Comprised of 350,000 sq.ft. of Retail space including a full service restaurant, a 400,000 sq.ft. parkade, this 750,000 sq.ft. IKEA store is their largest in Canada, third (3rd) largest in North America and sixth (6th) largest in the world.
