Wales Mclelland was awarded the contract to construct a freezer addition for the Delta Pacific Seafood processing facility. The work included a structural steel and insulated wall structure, new refrigeration equipment and the installation of a new electrical substation.
This large tenant improvement to an existing structure includes 20,000 square feet of new slab on grade work. Our work included expansion to cooler and freezer spaces, added low temperature construction and refrigeration equipment, extensive plumbing systems and added office space and washrooms.
Wales McLelland was selected to be the Construction Manager of the freezer/cooler distribution facility. Using a cast-in-place concrete suspended floor slab with a parkade underneath, this high production blast freezer will help Hallmark maintain their leading edge presence in the Western Canada food industry.
This project involved the demolition of an existing two storey building with a full basement, and replacement with a two storey building and a partial basement. Process piping and water treatment interconnects this building with adjacent facilities and the existing building structure also inter-relates with the adjacent facilities. The client required continued operations of the adjacent facilities during demolition and reconstruction.
This building was Wales McLelland’s fifth project in the Gloucester Estates Industrial Park. This new state-of-the-art meat processing facility for Made Rite Meats includes office space and freezer storage space.
Wales McLelland built a warehouse addition attached to a pre-existing facility. The addition required the creation of a new entrance road and significant site preparation was needed including excavation, the construction of retaining walls, and an underground irrigation system. The structure itself will be built using reinforced tilt-up concrete panels on both interior and exterior walls as well as the six bay loading dock. The building is complete with a new shipping office, an EPDM roof and exterior landscaping.
Before we could begin construction of this food production and distribution facility it was necessary to raise the footprint by one foot. The building includes 8,800 sq.ft. of office and mezzanine space, a 900 sq.ft. cold room, a 12,000 sq.ft. hot chocolate room, 9,200 sq.ft. of production area including a concrete slab mezzanine, a 900 sq.ft. roof top patio, and a future tenancy area of 3,800 sq.ft.. Interior finishes include carpet and ceramic flooring in the office area.
Wales McLelland was the Design-Build contractor for this 70,000 sq.ft. food production facility. The building includes a 3,000 sq.ft. freezer, a 4,600 sq.ft. cooler, and 17,000 sq.ft of office space. The production area includes its own 12,000 sq.ft. suspended concrete slab mezzanine, insulated wall panels to provide a clean working area, a trade waste-water filtering system, and four loading bays. The freezer has an insulated floor and glycol heating while exterior finishes include aluminum glazed windows, an EPDM roof membrane and a storm water retention system.
Snow Cap Enterprises began operating from a basement in 1977 and is now a multi-million dollar business; the premier supplier of fine baking supplies throughout B.C. Snow Cap contracted Wales McLelland to “Design-Build” a new distribution center within the Glenwood Estates Industrial Park in South Burnaby. The building is the company’s central distribution point in the Lower Mainland and the facility includes offices, dry goods warehousing and a large freezer and cooler capacity.
This 121,000 sq.ft. expansion of SYSCO’s food distribution facility in Port Coquitlam was intended to update an exsisting facility to match SYSCO’s demands as they continue to grow their business model. Additional high-bay dry storage and cooler/freezer distribution space was added.
