Hopewell I & II

Wales McLelland is proud of their partnership with Hopewell for the development of their East Richmond lands. The first Hopewell building, constructed in 2008, totaled 484,000 sq.ft. with Phase II, completed in 2009, totalling 443,000 sq.ft.. Both buildings were of similar construction using concrete tilt panels, structural steel and an EPDM roof membrane. The slab-on-grade is reinforced to accommodate a floor loading capacity of 800lb/sq.ft.. The design of these distribution buildings accommodate large tractor trailers, multiple loading positions and trailer parking.

Hopewell III

Wales McLelland completed this 280,000 sq.ft. warehouse for Hopewell Developments. Rapid impact compaction was used to prepare the soil for loading of the base building. The structure is of tilt-up concrete construction and with 30’ clear ceiling heights, 47 loading docks (with future provisions for an additional 11) and two demising walls spanning the width of the building to create three separate tenancy spaces. Our work included two tenant improvement projects as well as upgrades to the roof, docks, and electrical system.

Kingswood Business Park

To date Wales McLelland has built approximatley 2,017,000 square feet over 13 buildings on this 112 acre site, Tenants include Telus, Fedex, HBC Logistics, Purolator, Brother, Tech Data, Andlauer Transportation Systems, Ingram Micro, Anixter, Bunzl, Emco Distribution and Storkcraft. Together with Kingswood Properties and Emerson Real Estate Group, Wales McLelland has teamed to build one of the premier Industrial Parks in the Lower Mainland.

Made Rite Meats

This building was Wales McLelland’s fifth project in the Gloucester Estates Industrial Park. This new state-of-the-art meat processing facility for Made Rite Meats includes office space and freezer storage space.

Madison Pacific Properties

Wales McLelland was contracted by Madison Pacific Properties to build this single storey warehouse with office space. This project required special consideration due to soil conditions in Richmond. The facility is used to supply product to all Starbuck’s facilities in the Lower Mainland, Squamish, and Whistler area.

Makita

The project consisted of preloading and site preparation to raise grade to match existing warehouse elevation. New unit heaters and three (3) additional dock levellers will be added to this concrete tilt-up warehouse addition.

Marpole 401

Multi-tenant office and warehouse facility for small-user occupancy. Designed as a tilt-up concrete facility, ideally situated in the center of Vancouver to service the small bay users who need to be close to downtown.

Northern Gold Foods Expansion

Wales McLelland built a warehouse addition attached to a pre-existing facility. The addition required the creation of a new entrance road and significant site preparation was needed including excavation, the construction of retaining walls, and an underground irrigation system. The structure itself will be built using reinforced tilt-up concrete panels on both interior and exterior walls as well as the six bay loading dock. The building is complete with a new shipping office, an EPDM roof and exterior landscaping.

Panasonic

Wales McLelland is the Design Build contractor for this addition to the existing distribution facility for Panasonic Canada. Pre-load was placed in two phases to allow for continuous operation of the facility. The addition comprised of concrete tilt-up walls, loading docks, new access road and related site works.

Rhino Print Solutions

Cast-in-place foundation, walls and walk panels for new addition to existing building. Construction of concrete pad for new printing press and associated equipment. Roof structure is steel joists, beams/columns and ballasted EPDM roofing membrane. Scope of work included cutting an opening into the existing building for access to addition and construction of chemical storage room.
