This new 123,000 sq.ft. processing and packaging facility was left as a simple shell building by the developer for Wales McLelland to design and build a comprehensive tenant fit out. Our work included complete refrigeration, mechanical, fire protection and electrical systems as well as interior insulated metal panels, offices and the slab on grade assembly complete with underslab heating. This unique facility uses box-in-a-box construction to separate a CFIA meat plant and a vegetable packaging plant which are completely independent of each other and divided by common office space. The meat plant contains a 7500 sq.ft. meat freezer and a 9000 sq.ft. meat cooler, while the vegetable packaging plant contains its own 12,000 sq.ft. cooler.
