Building Expansion

In 2010, Sysco’s business had grown beyond the capacity of the existing distribution facility in Port Coquitlam. So they brought on Wales McLelland to design and build an expansion that met the increasing demands of their business. The project used concrete tilt-up panels and structural steel columns with 27-foot clear heights, and included multiple specialized storage spaces for cold and dry goods.

Storage Beyond Expectations

SYSCO’s expansion featured an additional freezer and cooler space, high-bay dry goods storage, and all-new distribution spaces, including cold docks. They also wanted to make sure the building was not just another concrete block on the horizon, so the final design was completed with a 70,000 sq. ft. green roof. We’ve worked with SYSCO on a variety of projects over the years, all of which are unique. This project was no exception.
